Happy New Year!

Sunday, 5 January 2014

So it's 2014! Wow! It's snuck up on me so so quickly!
As you can see from my pic, Richie had a great time in snowy Grand Rapids, Chicago. I mean a horse sleigh ride...COME ON!!

Today is the first day I have stopped for a bit of reflection about goals for this year. Mostly because we are practically drowning in all this rain. It has rained and rained and then rained some more. I wake up in the middle of the night expecting to be wading in water...

Have you made some goals/resolutions? One? A few? Share!

Top of my list is a new job and maybe a house move. The Old Bake House is a beauty but it is a bit small for us all, with me and Richie needing an office each and Meadow gaining more plastic crap by the second. Open plan living seems so cool but actually it's nice to have your own individual space...

I'm always sad to leave a house behind, but generally I always find another one better. So I'm looking forward to some challenge in 2014, earning more money so we can ALL go to Chicago next year :) then I can get my own list (he failed  abysmally claiming 'there were no shops around'...oh yes. I am bearing a grudge. You betcha)

Happy New Year friends! I wish you joy, health and prosperity. Send dry weather my way please xx

Weekend Winter Wonderland

Monday, 16 December 2013

We are near! Soooo near Christmas now, and I wasn't feeling it at all... So decided to have a 2 day winter wonderland experience with Meadow.. We spent Sunday at an English manor house near us, eating Christmas crepes and drinking mulled wine (me). There was the most beautiful vintage carousel that we watched for ages... Father Christmas was in town, but M wasn't having any of it. "NO Mummy. No. I don't want to go and see him. He is a fake Santa with fake presents" According to the event organisers M was the "first child of the weekend to say no" That's my girl!!! And check it out: her fringe is long again after the Jimmy Saville Debacle...I swear I Will Never Cut It Again.

Today we went to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, with one of my best friends Denise and fellow 3 year old Lila. Lila and Meadow held hands all the way around and were just the sweetest ever!!! But sorry no pics, I really hate dragging our expensive cameras in to busy London events as they weigh a ton and I already have a jammed bag full of Meadow stuff, wipes/snacks/spare outfit...you know fellow Mums, you know. I read a lot of online stuff about the Hyde Park event but it really was fantastic. Besides being ultra expensive (hey it's LONDON) it was such a great day out. And it's starting to feel a lot like Christmas!

Hope you all having a great week! xx

Winter Wonder

Wednesday, 4 December 2013

Christmas is coming! We are starting to get The Old Bake House ready. Slowly....Rich bought our tree yesterday, but no pics yet as he is naked (the tree not Rich)
Meadow is crazy for her chocolate advent calendar and sneaks window opening in when she thinks I am not looking...I remember doing the exact same thing, and also "accidentally" tearing the paper on my presents so i could have a sneak inside to try to guess what it was. Come on you did too, right?? I've booked us tickets to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and it looks so much fun (esp when you are 3 years old!). London is such a special city when it is all decked out for Christmas.

There was a gorgeous sunset here last night and I rushed home to try to catch it...(my photo is unedited, right out of the camera) it was all purples and pink and just beautiful. My MacBook is getting old now, and editing photos and then uploading them is proving nightmareish..I think I need to take the plunge and splurge on a new one. Apple have us wrapped around their fingers or what?? I am quite intrigued to see the film about Steve Jobs starring the gorgeous Ashton, although it gets terrible reviews. Anyone seen it? Maybe not a good way to spend 2 hours? Particularly since Ashton will not look like Ashton...

My Chicago List! It is still in production, but I can tell you it will include these in a bright pink and this from Starbucks! I love it! Also want to try this mascara from Covergirl as we don't get Covergirl here anymore. I am a sucker for a great mascara! My favourite is YSL..but I am always up for trying recommendations!

Have a good Thursday! xx

Rag and Blog

Friday, 16 August 2013

So I had the very best of intentions today. Finish work at a reasonable hour, and get a blog post on my outfit (it was a good 'un)
But fate intervened, and my destiny was to spend 5 hours stuck in a 22 mile traffic jam leaving London....
And by the time I made it home, this little lady was passed out on the sofa. Her ickle feet! Don't be fooled though, they get sweaty :) And her poor fringe! Grow Grow Grow fringe! GROW!

So all I can leave you with is Rich's latest tattoo (ahoy me hearties) and my new Rag and Bone boots! Aren't they marvelous? Buy the leather version  here, I got mine directly from the Rag and Bone store in Oxford.. they are so comfy I love love love. Still undecided what to spend my voucher from Carla on...I look at Net-a-Porter everyday and change my mind :)
I also bought a little Gucci bag but I'm not sure if i like it or not. Will share it with you all soon for your opinion...maybe it will become a giveaway on my blog!?!

Have a happy weekend everyone and keep up with my instagram account to see what me and Meadow get up to this weekend (no weddings!)

What's up Wednesday?

Tuesday, 18 June 2013

I. Loving my brightest of bright (yes they ARE that colour) Zara trou and yes still loving that scarf! I am wearing it every day at the moment. Not loving the shirt as after wearing for an hour it crushes and that is my ultimate no-no. And that sums up my love/hate/love relationship with Zara..their clothes are really quite disposable. I'd rather pay more and wear more....
II. Meadow dashing past. No don't wipe my face. No don't want to wear my shoes.
III. Gardening with Papa. Melted my heart a little bit. Until she saw me and started chucking those wood chips at me. Quite violently. She sort of hates me at the moment because I am working so much and get home late and then do emails. So I guess there will be more wood chips coming my way, because I am away with work for a few days. Eeeks.

Stay tuned for a what's in my bag and how to downsize! Coming soon! Maybe tomorrow before I dash of to London for back to back meetings! Love! xoxo

PS me: shirt/trousers both Zara. Shoes, KG. Scarf. Whistles
Miss M. dress Next.

PS I got a PARKING TICKET today. Sucks.

Silent Sunday (with a little bit of Saturday too)

With a link you MUST watch as it made me lol all weekend (I watched them all like 5 times - celebrities reading out mean tweets about themselves )

Tuesday Thoughts

Tuesday, 21 May 2013

So it's Tuesday. My least favourite day of the week (if I was made to pick one) and I don't even have an explanation as to why. Although today was pretty good in the grand scheme of things (my starbucks coffee this morning actually tasted like coffee! result) and I struck gold with a new sunhat from Primark and the most amazing invention ever the handbag organiser!!! OMG this has revolutionised my life. No more worry that a pen will leak all over my Alexa (the horror and it HAS happened to me) No more rooting around for my lipgloss. I tell ya. Me being me though, I am guessing it may be short lived, and I will no doubt ditch it and it's blessed organisation. What can i say? I am fickle.

Another discovery of the day...I would suck at being a hand model. I have been obsessing over a thumb ring since I saw a very cool lady at The Cowshed wearing one (I kept sneaky staring at her! She was SO COOL>I was totally thinking Raaarrr.  I want her coat, jeans, hair and jewels :) Please tell me you do that too? So anyways, I had to copycat her and get me a thumb ring pronto. So where else to go? The London institution that is Liberty. And I scored. As you can see :) Apologies for the weird hand shots tho! I told you I sucked! My hands look ugly and i tried and tried and.....well. You can see for yourself.

Off to The Homeland tomorrow for a meeting...another day another hotel. Still I'm not complaining....free gin and all that :)

Happy Tuesday peeps and see you on Instagram
XOXO
Ps You linked out? :) I went for it today!

It's all in the detail

Thursday, 16 May 2013

A little bit of the day.
Details details details.
Pop of red in a grey mix.
Vintage bowling balls.
London poster. We have Paris but we are missing New York!
I'm feeling unenthusiastic at the moment. I'm not finishing things that i need to do. Birthday presents waiting to be sent. Inbox emails waiting to be responded to. Phone calls to make. I just cannot seem to get things done this week. I'm walking through mud. I have a million thoughts in my head but cannot seem to make decisions! Big, small they are all evading me. Work on the house, do we commit do we wait and see how are finances are? Aye aye aye!
So I'm calling it a day and escaping to bed with a nightmarishly awake toddler and my kindle and praying to the sweet sweet kind baby gods that they will be good to me tonight :)

Hope you all are being more constructive this week than me!

Today

Tuesday, 30 April 2013

Cath Kidston is doing a limited edition London zipped pouch! How cute? Had to!
Loving the daffodils in my kitchen, they are pure summer :) and make me smile whenever I see them (and yes, I so blurred out the background as our kitchen island is a bit of a crap fest...every morning it is empty, by 4pm it is littered with stuff!!!)
Husband working away editing a wedding, and getting fired up for the wedding season which kicks off next month...hello working long long long hours at the weekends! Hello grumpy husband!
Drawn towards pops of blue the moment, must be getting over my grey phase, and my good old Mulberry is hitting the spot, along with a new blue patterned skirt from Joules (not usually my style of store, but this skirt is just awesome)

What's making you happy this week? Meadow has discovered popcorn doesn't just exist at the cinema and is forever begging for some! It's the simple things....
