5 Things About Me.......

So it's trending and I'm joining in the fun.....the lovely Natalie gave me the idea. Although my blog is kind of an open forum anyway, there has to be something you don't know, right?

1. I aspire to be a famous stylist/photographer/blogger and get published but do absolutely nothing about it! Like it is just going to happen. Note to self. Get going with it. I totally believe that you can achieve anything you want, but you have to do some work.....:) Life just gets so busy and I admit I shelf things and then a day goes by, then a month then a year.

2.  I don't watch much TV, but adore American dramas...Californication/Dexter/MadMen...can't get enough. I like to save seasons and then have a huge Netflix catchup all at once. With coffee and chocolate in large supply.

3.  Dirty little secret I LOVE Laguna Beach. Gutted it finished. Yep. Mid thirties, mama, wife and can't get enough of the teenage angst. Yes, I like the Vampire Diaries (Stefan!! WTF) and you guessed it, Twilight anything.

4.  Running is one of my favourite things to do, and I adore it. But the first 10 minutes I complain and curse like a Sailor. Everytime. Especially since my run starts with an uphill :)

5.  I am the ultimate consumerist. I LOVE brands, I hate copies. Bags/wallets/washing powder/headache tablets...you name it, I want the real deal! My husband gets exasperated...it's the SAME ingredients! I DON'T CARE. I don't. It's intrinsic. I can't change it!

Your 5??  xo

So it's Saturday

Saturday, 6 April 2013

Family day!
So so so lucky to live near London but also live near the sea :0) it is such a perfect combination.
Bit of pirate ship watching with Daddy "I scared Daddy you have to protect me from pirate Captain Jack Spawow"
Back home to do some spring cleaning, and this is what happend....everyone gets involved. Hurumphh.
PS Meadow is getting weaned off dummies, they are just for naps, but she came home with that one yesterday which she stole from nursery :( bah!!!!! She came through from her room with it in her mouth!!!!

Any advice on dummy removal???? I hate them. I really do. I used it when I stopped breast feeding and she has become addicted to it, for sleeping and if she is upset. So not cute anymore now she is 2!! I remember before I had Meadow, thinking eughh dummies are ridiculous. Why do parents use them on kids? Just goes to show...no judgement.....until you have a screaming baby you have NO idea what it is like...dummies are instant pacification. Anyway. I'm working on it! And generally just working on being better! Meadow is such a sweetheart but she is a bit spoiled, and although she has great manners, she has started asking for presents all the time (since Christmas) and I really need to work on not spoiling her..but it is SO HARD. An internal battle always commences. I totally appreciate how lucky I am to be able to treat her, but there is such a fine line...how do you judge?

Happy weekend! xo

Happy Friday

I'm hoping for sunshine!
With cold snaps so I can wear my new Gucci scarf and Mulberry gloves.
Rich said I am very Arabic with my Gucci but  I LOVE it :)
Happy weekend xo

Working backwards

Thursday, 4 April 2013

Our last few hours today in Manchester!
We drank coffee (or babyccinos, the waiter in Cafe Nero made her one for free! That would NEVER happen in London)
Meadow picked her outfit today. Babyfashionista.
I wore my leather leggings (again - best buy EVER)
Meadow chose to go to the Manchester Art Gallery. She thought there would be dinosaurs. There weren't.
I love Manchester. It's a happy city. I'd be happy living there. I know it.
Maybe it's time for a change?
XO

PS Lots more pics to come :) Downloaded and good to go

Manchester Mooching

Wednesday, 3 April 2013

So we are half way home!
No bad traffic, no puking Meadow.
So far so good.
The last few Instagrams....My Easter Bunny
My Dad's street. Snow on the hills can you see it?
My Dad's new wheels....little ickle teeny bit envious :) he put me on the insurance, but I refused to drive it, as the last time I drove one of his new cars, I reversed it in to the side of the house. Not tempting fate.
My outfit today, Arran jumper, denim shirt, leather leggings.
Meadow in the service station. So much temptation.

Meadow has been such a doll this trip. She sat beside me today for 4 hours straight, singing, chatting and playing. Must admit Toca Boca has helped, as well as treats along the way.....a magazine here, a peppa pig pyjama top there......she works well with rewards. I am just so enjoying all my time with her. I can't imagine ever having to dilute that with another baby, and am so glad we have decided to stop at one..... I look so tired all the time. i think if we had parents around to help, it would be different, but alone it is a challenge with one, never mind two. working my job during the week and weddings at weekends, would be too much now with a new baby. Nothing beats the experience....being pregnant, giving birth, holding a tiny newborn. such a gift. A precious life changing experience i am a million times grateful for. But i also want to start looking after myself again. My hair! My nails! I miss the maintenance god dammit. We also really want a big holiday. Palm Springs. We need it, the winter here has been sooooo long and sooo cold. The glimmers of sunshine this week have been so welcome.

A few Meadow Musings from today..
In Cafe Rouge to the waiter who asked if she had finished her dinner "not yet Captain"
"Mums I really really need to be a pirate"
"I'm scared. Scared of scarecows"
"Mummy I need the iPad please. I have work to do"

Happy Wednesday everyone xx

Last Supper and Meadow Musings.

Last day in Scotland
Will miss the beautiful landscapes
The friendliness of the Scots
My Dad's house that has so much room! The garden!
Will not miss.
The TV that is gargantuan and on 24/7. Turn it off. I love my Dad but grrrrr the TV drives me crazy.

Meadow has had such a ball, soft play, safari park, feeding the fish, slides, parks.......
It's been so good to spend time with my girl. She accidentally hit me on the head with the iPad last night, and cradled my face, saying. " mummy please don't cry. It was an accident! I'm so sorry"

Other favourite moments include me having a fit at being stuck on M6 for 4 hours, "don't worry mummy, calm down, it's ok"
"My dolly is called Angel"
Me:"why is Daddy soooo grumpy?" Meadow : "I don't know. He is really grumpy"
Me "what shall we do today?" Meadow "go see Santa and his reindeer"
" Mummy you look beautiful, I like your hair"
"You are chubby you greedy guts"

She is such a ham!

What The Wednesday

Thursday, 28 March 2013

Well today was all planned out.
Leave early. Check
Go shopping in the amaze Bicester Village (why can I never spell 'Bicester'!?! Ever??) Check
Buy Gucci scarf. Check
Consider buying a Celine organiser but walk away (I did! Applause please) Check
Watch Meadow go down the slide and clap and cheer. x500. Check
Sit in traffic on way to Manchester for 6.5 hours. Nope. No. Not on list.
And last but not least.
Sit helplessly on motorway as Meadow threw up the pickled onion monster munch crisps she ate at the service station. No not on list either. Still, excited to be back in car tomorrow for another 5 hours reliving the onion smell.
Arrive at amaze apartment 7 hours after plan!
Woohoo!
Still both smiling!
Night night!

Grey Matter

Monday, 25 March 2013

It's been a crazy weekend around here.
Seem to be buying grey. With a bit of black and white thrown in for good measure. Thanks again Whistles. Or maybe they should be thanking me? Everyone asks where my outfits are from!!!!!!

Talking of grey, Meadow fell out of her high chair on Saturday morning and literally turned my world upside down for a day.
The sight of your child, drowsy and unresponsive is terrifying.
It puts the everything in to perspective.
Back to being thankful. Because it kind of got away from me for a few days.
Because life without this little treasure seeking, pirate loving, chocaholic, crazy dancing, smiling, cheeky bundle of blondness, would be no life at all.

Hello Lover

Thursday, 21 March 2013

Today was along work day, a patient couldn't access one of my drugs, which is BAD, and it RAINED all damn day.
But.
My beautiful sunshiney Lover sweatshirt arrived today and, well, I LOVE it.
I asked Rich to take some pics, and I swear my Alexander Wang infinity scarf looked better in reality than it has transferred on to film...anyway. Buy a Lover sweatshirt from here.
Thanks Meg!
So while I was barking directions at Rich, Meadow was keeping busy. Busy Bee. She even kept me a sticker.
Hope you all had a good Thursday :)

Monday Madness

Monday, 18 March 2013

Meadow doing Meadow's favourite thing of the moment. Changing her clothes on a whim. Here, pictured watching the Grinch, and deciding on an impromtu change, and tangling herself up in her top. Big sigh.
Excuse the mess on the kitchen table. Sometimes, it just explodes with crap.

Today, has been interesting. It took me 4 hours to get in to central London, instead of 50 minutes. That kind of totally sucked. On the upside, I had my mini iPad and had just downloaded Breaking Dawn! The fight is just the BEST. Oh My God, Carlisle's head and Aro's self satisfied smile? OMG.

Another upside was after my long tedious boring meeting, the trains were, naturally, all cancelled, so I bummed around Covent Garden in the rain, got soaked to the skin and bought these bad boys,(seriously Whistles, when are you going to start paying me attention and sponsoring me???) along with some leggings with leather down the middle from H&M, and a cozy knit from Cos, so felt quite pleased with myself.

Walking through the pouring rain felt good! Even although I had on my dress and work boots and (holy shit) my precious Pashli, it was good to get really, really soaked. Soaked so bad, that 2 men offered me their umbrellas (who says chivalry is dead??) and one of them was homeless. Humbling indeed. (I said no and yes, I will be dropping him off coffee every time I see him)

Hope you are all staying dry xo

Perils of The Pashli

Thursday, 14 March 2013

So I decided to capture some decent shots of the Pashli, but had a little someone interfering along the way.
We love a good bag around here. Also loving bright pops of colour. Hello neon! I remember you. I believe we were friends back in the 80's when I wore you in the form of t-shirts and laces in my shoes :)
In other notable news, I eventually went to the dentist after enduring toothache for like a whole week. That little trip cost me £500 and has me thinking I am so in the wrong job. £500 for an hour? WTF?

The rest of my evening so far has been spent watching numerous episodes of Peppa Pig and shouting at the dog.
That's a great visual for you right there, non?

The small remaining part left, I plan to eat my own weight in popcorn and other sugary snacks and say "take that you expensive mofos" to my teeth.

XO
