Sunshine and Smythson

Tuesday, 21 August 2012

Rich has finished our decking! Hurrah we can finally sit outside with a glass of vino and enjoy our view of The OBH and the beautiful South Downs(just in sight!)
Meadow had fun tumbling about on her beanbag and our little space is finished just in time for my parents visit from Scotland.
Rich laughing with my Dad and sunlight hitting the OBH. My favourite time of day just before sunset. Life just feels better then :)

2 new purchases - Prada perfume and my Smythson of Bond Street new iPhone case, as when i dropped my old one, I shattered the case as well as the phone...double disaster. Also bought a new Marni bag but not photographed it yet......
Tomorrow planning brunch somewhere yummy and cannot believe I am half way through my first week of holiday and it's Meadow's birthday in a few weeks. I've got pinterest planning to do. I always find pinterest so inspirational and kind of wish i could live there (if it was a place) as everything is so beautiful! Does that sound mad or what?

Off to sit on our decking (listening to Meadow singing Happy Birthday in her cot. Her favourite song at the mo:)
Happy Tuesday evening everyone!

Today

Sunday, 19 August 2012

Was such a great day! It started early (as ever) with our morning trip to the pond and ended with such a fun time 10 pin bowling with our besties The Wisdoms. Meadow was literally besides herself. Music! Bowling! Exciting car racing machines! Nachos!
I didn't take any pics as it was a bit dark and I'd not taken flash with me....
So instead, some pics of earlier in the day.
Meadow eating the bread we bought for the ducks (which she would not eat at home - go figure)
Thatched cottage down the road from us.
Wellies and leggings abandoned because it is way more fun to be half naked in public.
The friendliest ducks ever
Gluten free oaty muffins I made for Rich who does not eat wheat
Beautiful flowers from our lovely neighbours.
Happy Sunday everyone xx

Weddings

Friday, 17 August 2012

Ok so I'm stuck in a service station Starbucks. The M25 is at a standstill. But I'm reading Elle magazine USA! And there is an interesting article on getting married. It ends with "things I would change" and she says "hire a professional wedding photographer". This makes me smile because it's our business and we say it to brides All The Time. Your friend with a fancy camera, knows nothing about what it takes to take a decent shot. There is so much that goes in to what we do. Anyway. I'm keeping that article!

Flowers and iPhones

Thursday, 16 August 2012

My new iPhone arrived! Woot woot.
I need a new case as my case shattered with my iPhone. Any recommendations people?
Miss M was overjoyed to have the box to empty and throw around the lounge. I swear I spend my life picking things up off the floor. She particularly loves anything that is mine, scarves (Whistles! Pictured)bags, purses, make-up.....I think she is going to be just like me :)
We have taken down some vintage movie posters and are replacing them with a big photo wall..this is our beginnings of it - a few favourite shots from the gazillion weddings we have shot and one of me in the woods in Scotland!
Tonights dinner was fancy with edible flowers in it... so pretty.
Oxford tomorrow so will try to get some decent pics in between working (yawn) and must continue to exercise self control as I drive here

Jersey Shore

Wednesday, 15 August 2012

Today I flew to Jersey! It's part of the UK but is closer to France (14 miles)
I had a fab time but.
Broke my iPhone :(
Bought Aveda Shampure (my fave) and then had to put it in the BIN at airport security. Duh.
Anyway
It's a beautiful place. Nearly bought the most gorgeous vintage Hermes scarf but managed to find some self control. Damn being poor:) Found a cute deli for breakfast... They have their own Jersey money! Too cute! Some pics courtesy of my shattered iPhone...

Colour

Tuesday, 14 August 2012

Colourful snapshots of life here today in The OBH
Meadow's Shades of Pink:book, cardigan and Mouseeee!
Hydrangeas stolen from - you guessed it - next door
House plants
Interiors book and my fave sunnies, along with a DVD still to watch. I really wanted to buy Midnight in Paris as I LOVE it, but settled for another Paris movie
And yes I have Paris on my mind :)
Talking of France, Meadow's beloved nursery teacher Tilly, who is French has left us :( we wish her so well but will miss her! Good luck Tilly! Pic of her present for Meadow soon :)
My favourite Pringle blazer that I get so many compliments on. Men and women love it!
Richie Rich working in his new space on the mezzanine. Editing. Exciting stuff :)

What Saturday at 6.30 am looks like

Saturday, 11 August 2012

Lie-in's are a thing of the past.
Although I often let Husband lie in, and take Meadow out as soon as she wakes up. I love early mornings anyway...
Here is a bit of our Saturday morning. We were the only people out in the village, and in our gorgeous park and it was lovely :) Miss M rocking some serious bed-head! It was all beautiful and misty, with sunshine breaking through...making the most of it while it is here.
It's been a tough few days as I've been mad busy with work but feeling ill, and Meadow seems to have my bug, and is coughing with a high temp. So night wakenings again! I've not missed them at all and the last 3 nights have made me wonder how the hell I got up 3 times a night for months???

Anyway, here's hoping we get through tonight with a good sleep! Please baby gods :)

Things I would do

Thursday, 9 August 2012

if I had another baby.
(which I have zero plans to do at the moment FYI)
1. Take several cute blankies to hospital, like this one or this one. I took ONE !!! which was not enough as babies spit up copious amounts and so Meadow ended up wrapped in a towel. See below.
2. Make sure that Husband does as promised and knows how carseat works. Pretty sure we got that wrong. See below
3. As professional photographers with extremely expensive cameras, take one to hospital, so not left with grainy iPhone pics of brand new child. See below.
4. Also take a book. I had loads of alone time and was bored. Babies sleep. A lot. Thoroughly enjoying this
5. Allow my Dad to come along (not in The Room but be around). He wanted to. I refused and then realised actually I wished he was there.
6. Take teeny tiny onesies. All Meadows were too big and she looked lost. Also buy millions as you change them constantly. My favourites.

Random post, but hopefully useful :)

Summer days

Wednesday, 8 August 2012

Hmmm, not really had many of those this year yet. I'm missing the sunshine. So a little perk up from Miss M. She just makes me SMILE :)

Polka Dots and Denim

Tuesday, 7 August 2012

Get outta town! My two favourites in a combination! LOVING my Gap polka denim shirt and wearing with my BCBG belt I bought in LA...
A few shots of The OBH - the view of the upstairs mezzanine and our pretty christmas decorations that we kept up!
Some sparkle in a vintage soap box, and a little stack of Louis and Clare Vivier loveliness

No Miss Mog shots today! She has been a real sweetheart lately, and even handed me her dinner plate and said in her teeny voice "all done Mummy" (Usually she drops it on the floor) MAJOR progress people, major progress.

Anyway I have a ridiculously annoying cough which is seriously cramping my sleep! Coughs are the worst! Off to bed with some lemon tea and my kindle (rock n roll) :)
